Tourists can’t go near the basin of the falls as it is dangerous. There’s a view deck for tourists and photographers alike to capture the whole image. The current is relatively strong and no one is permitted to take a bath at the banks. Electricity for the province and its surrounding provinces as well is sourced here.
This is the downstream where the falls discharges its furious water into the river and into the sea. There are picnic cottages where people can spend some time for a rest and snacks.
I was mesmerized by the ceiling of this church. It’s a dizzying sight just by looking up and taking photos of it. I could say that the ceiling is very different from all the other churches in the Philippines. Jose Rizal used to attend mass here every Sundays during his exile. Some words of caution: Don’t look up too long and you’ll end up sitting on the bench due to spinning surroundings.
While looking for the right spot to get the facade at the center of my photo, I was told to keep off the grass, it’s off limits.
