Betel Nut And My Grandmother

My grandmother enjoyed this rock-hard nut with lime, tobacco, wrapped in buyo leaf and chewed. The mixture is called a quid, which becomes bloody red  after chewing. She was already 90+ years old but still strong enough to climb the two and a half-meter high iron gate of the house. She was then seen by neighbors walking two kilometers away from our home searching for her baby child which was already a grown-up and in heaven. I think this is the result of her chewing the  quid, increased stamina and being alert. It also stimulates the flow of saliva to aid digestion.  Stimulating the appetite has also resulted from this. Although there was alertness in her actions, being in the spell of second infancy did not escaped her. It was a good thing she was not run over by vehicles speeding on the road.
